October Events at Zion-Benton Public Library for Kids and Teens



Today was our October SIP day with fun games and recognizing our students of the month. We also talked about what it means to be a leader, and how students will win special bee bucks if they are showing leadership qualities!!






4th grade students in Ms. Strathmanns' class are practicing base 10 using place value blocks that they made out of paper! What innovative learning!!








Students in Mrs. Campbells class celebrated passing their I-ready lessons with games and a cupcake party! Way to go!!


Kindergarten students in Ms. Zubecks and Mrs. Reddings class, built houses and cubes out of magnetic shapes (triangles and squares) that they are studying in their current math unit! What an amazing way of hands on learning!

1st grade students in Mrs. Brockway's class are using flexible seating to help them focus on their Chromebook work.


Students are full of creativity in Mrs.
Romero’s music class! Second grade is using colorful scarves to express the music, while third grade is working on creating an instrumental interlude!



Students celebrated Hispanic Heritage month by wearing red, white and green today!





1st graders in Mrs. Brockway's class are learning math patterns to help with fact fluency in addition and subtraction!


Ms. Strathmanns' 4th grade class used beans to practice measuring benchmarks for standard units with mass and weight. What an exciting way to learn such an important skill!

Students in Mrs. Kostal's kindergarten class are doing workplaces including pennies on ten frames, unifix cube patterns, geoboards, and building figures through pattern blocks! A great way for students to explore math concepts!






In art class, Mrs Burns had the kindergarten students exploring different shapes through hands on learning!




CUB Scout Pak 663 will be at each of the Beach Park elementary schools tomorrow evening, September 19, from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.


Oak Crest students and staff wore gold/yellow today to raise awareness for pediatric cancer!
