5th grade students in Ms. Lukas' class played jeopardy to review for their unit 2 post test in math. They worked with fractions, and unit price. What a fun way to practice for a test!






4th grade students in Ms. Strathmanns class started to learn about opinion writing today. They did a fact or opinion scoot to practice determining what's a fact and what's an opinion. Students learned in an interactive, and fun way!






Students and staff at Oak Crest showed up in pink for breast cancer awareness month. Students and staff loved wearing their pink today!









Kindergarten students in Mrs. Winigers class did an ABC room search to help with identifying their letters! What a great and engaging way to learn their letters!

November Events at Zion-Benton Public Library for Kids and Teens!



Kindergarten students in Mrs. Winiger's class compared and contrasted two wordless books that they read. They used two hula hoops to make and fill in a Venn diagram. What a great hands on way to show their learning!


Kindergarten students in Mrs Kostal's class wrote their names in Play-Doh to practice writing and spelling their names! What a great hands-on way to practice!


1st grade students in Mrs. Brockways' class, worked with Ms. Sara to learn how to tie their shoes! They used a board that had laces on it to get hands on practice!


One of the most exciting things about our SIP days is the book buddies we have! Our 1st grade students buddy up with 4th graders to get to know each other, and do fun activities together! It's a great way for our students to develop relationships.

3rd grade students in Mrs. Johnson's class were practicing cooperative learning using arrays with the rally coach strategy. This cooperative learning strategy has students think out loud, and check it with their partner. This develops social skills and learning skills.





Ms. Strathmanns 4th grade students are decorating sugar skulls for day of the dead. This is a great and fun way for students to learn about the day of the dead!







Students in Mrs. Kostal's class are practicing the word to in shaving cream. They are practicing writing and read this important sight word. Great work friends!!!




Today The Frog Lady came to Oak Crest and showed students different reptiles and they even got to pet them. The students loved seeing them and petting them!






1st graders in Mrs Brockway's class were learning how to measure and learning how sound travels as a part of their math and science units! How fun and innovative these activities are!
