5th grade students in Ms. Lukas's class were working on comparing and contrasting two stories that they read. They used a Venn diagram to plan out the similarities and differences, and then wrote it in paragraph form.

Career day was in full swing today, as students and staff dressed up as what they want to be when they grow up.




Preschool and Kindergarten students were celebrating Earth day by enjoying the beautiful weather, and by making projects! Happy Earth Day!




5th grade students were working on a variety of assignments today. Students talked about how authors can show the setting in a text, and students worked on their own narrative writing assignments.



Students in Mrs. Campbell's class were working on their life cycle assignments. They researched the life cycle of an animal/insect, and drew the stages, and wrote about it. Students enjoyed researching, and learning about different life cycles.




4th grade students were hard at work during their reading RTI time today! Students are learning about inferences, and they put that to practice today during their RTI time!




Kindergarten students were so excited to receive their new books that they got to take home through Bernie's Book Bank.


1st grade students played Gaga ball today in gym. Gaga ball is where students have to avoid being hit below the knee, or they're out. The last student left wins! 1st grade students had a blast playing this today!




Students in Ms. Zubeck's class practiced writing their letters in shaving cream today. Students had fun, and loved making their letters!


2nd grade students in Mrs. McGee's class were provided materials, and worked with a partner to invent face protection from the sun.






1st grade students worked on making their numbers 1-20 out of Play-Doh this afternoon. Students had fun, and loved this hands on learning activity.



5th grade students in Ms. Lukas's class, were studying how illustrators try to use colors, and symbols to convey the theme of a story. They read The Little House, and looked at how the illustrations changed with color, and symbols to show the theme.





Oak Crest celebrated the Solar Eclipse today with a glow in the dark dance party! Students danced in the gym with glow in the dark accessories! Students had so much fun celebrating, and learning about the Solar Eclipse today!

Kindergarten students in Mrs. Winiger's class made the Lorax, and wrote about what they would do to help the Lorax take care of Earth.




4th grade students had fun playing pickleball in gym class!


Students in Mrs. Campbell's class were answering questions about a story they listened to, while using their Chromebooks. Incorporating technology into our learning, increases student engagement!



Oak Crest welcomed students back from spring break, with an expectations reboot! We reviewed expectations with students, crowned our March students of the month, and had a fun relay race!
