Today, we would like our Food Service Staff, Ms. Maria & Ms. Claudia to know how thankful we are for them! Ms. Maria & Ms. Claudia work very hard every day to make sure our student's have a hot and healthy lunch. (Always with a smile!) We are so thankful for you!

Beach Park District 3 schools and district office will be closed tomorrow, November 10, in observance of Veterans Day. Thank you to all of our Veterans for your service to our country!

Mrs. Galvan's class watched a video about Veterans Day today. While watching, these sweet student's felt moved enough to salute the Veterans in the video!

We would like our Instructional Coach, Mrs. Mahar to know how thankful we are for her! This is her 31st year working for BPD3 and her 8th year as an Instructional Coach. Her positivity, patience, knowledge and dedication to our district make her a shining example of what it means to be a great coach. We appreciate you, Mrs. Mahar!

We are so thankful for our 4th (4th/5th combined) grade team!! Mrs. Smith has been with Newport for 22 of her 24 years working for BPD3. Mrs. Squires has been with Newport for 27 years & Mr. Shore has been with us for 4 years! We are thankful for you, your hard work, your dedication and your passion for teaching!

Student's SIP day challenge was called "Mayflower Ship." They had to build their version of the Mayflower, which would support the "Pilgrims." Our first and third grade students had some success!

We would like our Speech Pathologist, Ms. Schwartz to know how thankful we are for her! Ms. Schwartz has been making a difference in Newport students lives for 24 years. Her dedication and commitment to our students is obvious. Thank you for all that you do Ms. Schwartz!

Today, we would like our custodian Mr. DeBennette, to know how thankful we are for him! This is Mr.D's first year as a custodian at Newport. However, he is a retired BPD3 teacher of 33 years, 3 of which were at Newport. We are so thankful for all that you do!

Mrs Parmley’s artists are practicing “Dot, dot, not a lot” with the glue bottle. The artists cut there trees last week and are now creating the fall tree with tissue paper.

Today, we would like our kindergarten teachers, Ms. Maki & Ms. Parmley to know how thankful we are for them! Ms. Parmley has been with Newport for the past 6 years, the last 4 have been in a kindergarten class. Ms. Maki has been teaching kindergarten at Newport for 3 years.

One of Mrs. Squires's small groups is reading a book called, Space Burritos about the food eaten on the Space Station. Today they got the chance to try some "space" food. They tried freeze dried yogurt, cheese, chocolate ice cream and Starburst candy. The students agreed that the Starburst candy was the best and the cheese was the worst.


Students in Mrs. Maki's class were practicing letter identification and letter sounds with play doh.



Violet & NiJon did a wonderful job reading the announcements this week!

Director of Multilingual Programs,. Ms. Lissette Britto read to Mrs. Squires 4th grade class about the history and significance of The Day of the Dead with our students today.
