Newport's PTO presents "A Night Under the Stars!"

Ms. Branamen’s 5th grade artists worked on their analogous tree inspired by the Chilean artist Carlos Catasse. Analogous colors are three to four colors next to each other on the color wheel.

What did we learn from today's experiment?
1. Baking soda and vinegar combined is a chemical reaction that releases carbon dioxide.
2. When you do the experiment in a sealed bag, the gas particles expand the bag and sometimes even pop it!
We had so much fun!!! This is an easy experiment to try at home!!

Did you know making goo/slime is a chemical reaction? Ask your 4th or 5th graders in Mrs. Smith's class which substances we mixed together today!

For the December SIP Day challenge, the student's worked together to engineer a shelf for their paper elf to sit on! The Kindergarten and 4th grade students did a fantastic job!











This month's character trait is Gratitude. The SEL activity the students had to do was to sort the descriptions and decide if they were showing gratitude or not showing gratitude.

Congratulations to these fabulous superSTARS who won the raffle this week for meeting the 80% pass rate in either Math or Reading I-Ready and having met the required 45 minutes in both reading and math!


It was quite the fun surprise when Mrs. Gorski's class Elf "Snowy" made her appearance! To make the moment even more special, they had a guest reader, Mrs. Ruesch!
