It's time for BPMS FRI-YAYS! ☀️During lunch hours, students have been able to eat outside in the courtyard on the tables that were built by our community! 💫 BPMS staff is all smiles, happy to welcome students and see their colleagues again! 🎉 ZERO office referrals or major behaviors in week 1! 🦅 Fri-YAYs for BPMS this week include: 👩‍🏫 staff on the IMPACT team gathered this week to prepare connection activities for students in the first weeks of school. The goal? To make sure that ALL students feel seen, valued and understood. Learning tasks created space to discuss how unique every child is who comes to us and in order to foster a sense of belonging, our job is to meet every child where they are! 👷🏽‍♀️students from NJHS came together to build picnic tables for our courtyard! The second phase of this project will include sanding & painting with alumni at ZBTHS who are in NHS now. We can't wait for our school family to enjoy their hard work! Special thanks to Ms. Heard, Mr. Jantzen & our band families who jumped in to help build! 🧠 the Admin team spent time reflecting on strengths in leadership style and finding their "working genius!" 😎A few Fri-YAYs to close out this week: 🤝Mrs. Meek led our new hires through a Brain Smart Start where each person identified their personal strength and acknowledged a strength they see in a peer by tossing a ball of yarn. We are all connected, belong here as a team and add value to BPMS as a whole! 🦅 🙋🏼🙋🏽🙋🏻🙋🏾Mateo, Caiden, Tristan, Ben, & Emiliano gave their time over the last two weeks as 8th grade leaders. From hanging paper on the new bulletin boards, moving materials to painting the first rocks for our community rock garden! We love to see how our students take the lead! 🍎 Immersion Coordinators & Instructional Coaches led our new staff through reflection activities tied to the marigold effect, Calm Classroom and Kagan structures. 📣 Board Member Update & Appreciation At last night’s Board of Education meeting, we celebrated both continuity and change within our leadership team. We proudly recognized Nicole Butler and Kellie Ropers, who were reelected in the April 2025 election and officially took the oath of office. We’re grateful for their continued dedication and service to the Beach Park School District 3 community. 👏 We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to Steven Lenzi and Anne Fuson, whose terms on the Board concluded. Steven served an incredible 19 years, and Anne contributed 3.5 years of thoughtful leadership.
