Welcome to Transportation!

  • All students must board their bus at their assigned pick-up stop on a consistent five (5) day a week basis.

  • Students shall be at their assigned pick-up bus stop five (5) minutes before the scheduled time. Drivers are not permitted to wait at the stop for students who are not at the stop on time or for absent students.

  • Proper behavior is expected at the bus stop. Students must stay off the road but be visible to the bus driver and wait until the bus comes to a complete stop before boarding.

  • Proper behavior is expected while on the bus. For detailed information regarding school bus conduct, please review the Transportation section of the Parent Student Handbook (found on the BPD3 Website)

  • Buses will drop students off at their assigned drop-off location on a consistent five (5) day basis. For Kindergarten and younger students, or special education students, a designated adult must be present at the bus stop for the student to be released. Parents who are not at their stops at the designated times will have to pick up their student from their school of attendance or the District office depending on school personnel availability.

  • If your child is required to wear a harness, please make sure you pick up the harness prior to the first day of school. We are unable to transport any child required to wear a harness who is not wearing one and will not have extra harnesses on the bus. Harnesses are assigned to your student and if lost, will be the responsibility of the parent to replace them at the current replacement cost.

  • Drop-off times are estimated; therefore, we ask for your patience the first few weeks of school as our students and staff adjust to the daily routines.

  • Inclement weather or unavoidable bus delays (such as trains on tracks, traffic, accidents, or student loading /unloading delays) may cause buses to be later than normal for pick-up or drop-off times. We will attempt to contact you via the school email and/or phone blast if your bus is delayed more than ten (10) minutes.

  • Routes will not be altered without the permission of the Transportation office. If you have a concern regarding your student’s bus stop, please contact the Transportation office. The driver is responsible for the safe transportation of your student while on the bus, please be respectful of their position, they are unable to make route changes without permission.

  • If a pick-up or drop-off change needs to be made for your student or your student attends daycare, please email the request at least two (2) business days prior to the requested change. We do not go out of assigned school boundaries for baby-sitters or alternate pick-up or drop-offs, please refer to the school boundaries map on BPD3 Website or contact the registrar’s office for further details.

  • All changes to transportation are on a permanent basis only. All approved bus changes take a minimum of two (2) days, up to five (5) days to process. Please submit bus changes with as much notice as possible.

  • School bus route information will be available in your Powerschool account. Please check the BPD3 website for instructions on how to access your account.

  • If you have moved, please contact the registrar’s office to confirm your proof of residency information prior to contacting the Transportation office for new bus information.

FAQ’s

Can my student take a different bus to a relative or friend's house?

In most cases, no. Due to the capacity of our bus routes, students are not allowed to ride buses other than their assigned bus.

How do I notify the Transportation Department of an address change?

Contact the school building registrar to prove residency. The registrar will process the required paperwork and notify transportation.

My student is the only one at the bus stop. Can we move it to my home?

We cannot move stops to house stops, students may be added to the existing stop at any time throughout the school year.

Daycare Drop Off

If your child needs to be picked up and/or dropped off at a daycare provider, the provider must be within the school boundaries your child attends. You must contact the transportation company to inform them, giving them the daycare provider’s information. If registering over the summer please note any route changes or daycare situations must be submitted by mid-July for new and returning students. For returning students, transportation changes do not carry over year to year. You must contact transportation by mid-July for the upcoming year. Once school begins, any route change requests will take 48 hours to process. Transportation can be reached at 847-623-4840.
