Mrs. Pellegrino's class had a very special mystery reader on Friday. Mrs. Pellegrino welcomed her very own former elementary school teacher and lifelong friend, Ms. Sharon Herington.
We are so thankful for our E.L. Resource teacher! Ms. Rodriguez has been such an amazing addition to Newport this year! Her welcoming smile in the morning is just what our students (and staff!) need to start their day. We appreciate your hard work, your kindness and your willingness to always lend a hand!

Due to an accident this morning on Rte 173 west of Kilbourne Rd, Rte 173 is currently closed in both directions. You will need to take an alternate route when picking up your student at this time. You can enter from 41 & 173 and let the Sheriff's Deputy know you are picking up a student from Newport School.

We are so thankful for our Lunchroom/Playground Supervisors! Ms. Martha has been with us for 4 years, Ms. Wontaya for 3 years and this is Ms. Jessica and Ms. Bessie's first year at Newport. We appreciate all of your hard work, your patience and the kindness that you show our students. The playground & lunchroom are a much safer and better place because of you!

Today during gym, 3rd and 4th grades played Medic dodgeball. Both classes chose to play boys vs. girls.
Today in gym, Kindergarten played "Simon Says" and Duck, Duck, Goose. The 2nd graders played Alligator Tag where they had to plank & wait for a classmate to cross-tap opposite hands to be saved before they could play again.
Ms. Pellegrino's class is working on their "Thankful Turkeys!"
Our Teacher Assistant's & Library Assistant are the best! Ms. Hernandez has been with Newport for 4 of her 25 years with BPD3, Ms. Franco & Ms. Reak have been with us for 7 years, Ms. Knuth has been with us for 11 years and this is Ms. Larsen's first year at Newport! We appreciate ALL the work you do with our students on a daily basis to support the path to learning and the joy of reading! We are thankful for ALL of you!!
