Kindergarten Parents,
Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year and your child’s first year at Kenneth Murphy Elementary. I know that everyone is excited for that first day of school and to see your child enter into our school. Your child is eager to go to their classroom for their first day. Remember that you and your child will have the opportunity to meet their teacher at our Open House on Tuesday, August 16, from 4:00-5:30 PM.
On their first day of school, there is no bus transportation so that you can be there as they enter the school for the first time. Bring your cameras to capture the moment. You will bring your child to school and come in for a brief introduction starting at 9:00 AM. From there, you will also meet both Kindergarten teachers and they will give you an overview of what your child’s day will look like and daily expectations. I will then dismiss you for the remainder of the morning and invite you back to pick up your child at 11:00 AM at the front of the building. After getting to spend some time with their teacher, meeting classmates and learning about some of the routines, your child will be reunited with you to go home and prepare for the next day, which will be a full day, including bus transportation, if you choose.
