Board of Education Vacancy Notice
Beach Park School District 3 is extending the application period for individuals interested in filling the current vacancy on the Board of Education resulting from the resignation of Board Member Andy Luther, effective August 17, 2026.
Individuals interested in serving on the Board of Education must meet the following qualifications:
Be a United States citizen
Be at least 18 years of age
Be a resident of the State of Illinois and Beach Park School District 3 for at least one year immediately preceding the appointment
Be a registered voter
Not be prohibited by law from holding public office
Interested candidates should submit a completed application, letter of interest, and résumé no later than 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 2, 2026.

Following the extended application deadline, the Board of Education will review submitted materials and may invite selected candidates to participate in an interview.
The Board of Education will appoint a qualified candidate to fill the vacancy in accordance with Illinois law. The appointed individual will serve as provided by the Illinois School Code.
