Leading with Trust: How Beach Park Is Protecting Students in a Digital World

At Beach Park School District 3, learning is constant, and so is our commitment to keeping students safe. From the classroom to the cloud, every lesson, login, and click matters.

This week, Beach Park earned national recognition for its leadership in student data privacy, receiving the Trusted Learning Environment Mini Seal for Leadership — a distinction that celebrates schools that protect students not just academically, but digitally.

The recognition puts the district among a select group of Illinois schools leading the way in data privacy and digital responsibility. It’s proof that our teachers, leaders, and technology teams are working hand-in-hand to keep every student’s digital experience safe and meaningful.

What This Means for Our Students and Families

Earning this recognition means families can feel confident that Beach Park is going above and beyond to protect their children’s information from grades and attendance to the learning apps they use every day.

Behind the scenes, staff across the district are working together to ensure every decision about technology and data starts with one question: Is this what’s best for our students?

“Our care for students doesn’t stop at the classroom door; it extends into every digital space they enter,” said Superintendent Dr. Denise Wilcox. “We want families to know that when their child logs in to learn, they’re doing so in a safe, secure, and trusted environment.”

Part of Our Journey to Blue Ribbon Excellence

This milestone is also about leadership, trust, and continuous improvement, all key parts of our Journey to Blue Ribbon Excellence.

Just as we nurture curiosity and courage in our students, we’re modeling those same values as a district, staying ahead of change, strengthening our systems, and earning recognition for doing things the right way.

Whether it’s creating transparent policies, training staff, or communicating clearly with families, Beach Park’s focus is the same — to Learn, Lead, and Succeed.

Protecting students isn’t just a task on our to-do list. It’s part of who we are.
