Dear Beach Park Families,
In Beach Park District 3, we strive to maintain a respectful and focused learning environment for all students. Recently, we have noticed an increase in students bringing inappropriate topics and language into the classroom much of which originates from unsupervised access to social media, group chats, and age inappropriate online content.
To help us maintain a safe and positive school learning environment, we ask for your partnership in the following areas:
Monitor Digital Access: Regularly check your child’s text messages, social media accounts, online search history, and chat features in gaming apps.
Discuss Age-Appropriate Content: Children often encounter complex or adult themes online that they are not yet equipped to process, leading them to share that information with peers at school and ask questions in order to make sense of what they saw, heard, or experienced.
Encourage Kindness: Remind your child that the digital footprint they create and the words they use in person should reflect the values of respect and empathy always.
Our goal is to ensure that school remains a place where every student feels comfortable and focused on their education. We appreciate your support in reinforcing these expectations at home.
Thank you for your continued partnership.
