INVITATION TO BID

Beach Park School District 3 is accepting sealed bids for Exterior Wall Remediation at Howe Elementary School and Kenneth Murphy Elementary School. The project scopes involve masonry repair and restoration, primarily grinding and repointing of mortar joints and removal and replacement of sealants. The projects will encompass approximately 2,100 square feet of wall space at Howe and 3,300 square feet of wall surface at Kenneth Murphy. The two projects will be separately bid with prime contracts for each project. Bidders are encouraged to bring the appropriate sub-trades to the pre-bid meeting.

All prospective Bidders shall attend a mandatory Pre-Bid Conference on November 21, 2024 @ 2:00PM, beginning at Kenneth Murphy Elementary School located at 11315 West Wadsworth Road, Beach Park, Illinois. Enter at the school’s Visitors Entrance. The conference will be attended by both the Owner and the Consultant. It is the responsibility of the Bidder/Contractor to attend and sign-in at the pre-bid conference. Failure to attend and sign-in at the pre-bid conference shall result in the rejection of any bids submitted by those non-attending Contractors. The company name registered at sign-in must be the same as that of the company submitting the quotations. This will be the only time that the Contractors will be escorted with full access to the project site(s).

Stipulated Lump Sum Bids will be publicly opened at the business office of the School District, 11315 West Wadsworth Road, Beach Park, Illinois 60099, on December 3, 2024 @ 2:00PM. Bids received after designated time and date of bid opening shall not be considered.

Bid security in the form of a bid bond, certified check or cashier's check in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the base bid shall be submitted with the bid. Performance, Labor and Material Payment Bonds and Certificate of Insurance will be required from the successful Bidder.

The Board of Education, Beach Park School District 3 reserves the right to reject any and all bids or parts thereof, to waive any irregularities or informalities in bidding procedures, and to award the contract in a manner best serving the interest of the School District.

All Bidders must comply with Illinois Revised Statutes, 1981, Chapter 48, Section 39s-1 through 39s-12, requiring the payment of prevailing wage rates to all laborers, workmen and mechanics working on publicly-funded projects. If during the time period of work, these rates change, the contractor shall be responsible for additional costs without any change to the contract amount.

After November 11, 2024, copies of the Bidding Documents may be obtained electronically from the BHFX Planroom: http://www.bhfxplanroom.com. A non-refundable download fee, in the amount of sixty dollars ($60.00) for each set of documents will be required. Checks shall be made payable to BHFX.
